TWIG is a groupware tool and application framework. It is written in the PHP programming language. TWIG is a simple, cross-platform, fast and browser-independent way to access or share almost any kind of information.

Many more features are planned, and future features will be simple to add because of TWIG‘s modular construction.
TWIG used to be Muppet, a web-based IMAP mail client. The first version was written and released by Christopher Heschong on December 18, 1998 to serve as a simple web based e-mail interface for the customers of his ISP, The Wire Company. Since that time, several other developers have added their time and skill to create a program that is much more than just an e-mail client.
